Are You Struggling With Overwhelm and Mommy Guilt?

For many years I struggled in my real estate business feeling I was doing everything for everybody else. When I grew my team and was the person that was ultimately responsible to pay the bills and cut the paychecks. I felt overly responsible that I had to be the one to do the majority of the sales production too. Running the business and making the majority of the sales was exhausting! I was working all the time and struggling with overwhelm and Mommy guilt.

My life was crazy.

I had two small children and they were in full time day care so I could run the business and we also had a nanny on the evenings and weekends so I could be on appointments with buyers and sellers. One day I came home for lunch to see the kids. There were landscapers at the house and things were a little hectic. I had a funny feeling so I started to look around for our little dog. Sadly, I found her in the street where she had been hit by a car. The gate had been left open., there was nothing we could do and she was gone.

I will never forget that defining moment I had while standing there in the street, looking back at my house.

My little daughters were standing there on the front porch crying and being comforted by the nanny, my sweet dog was gone, and looking at my house I realized all the flowers in my window boxes were dead.

Talk about a wake up call for me. Things had to change, immediately.

There was a huge shift in my business the next day.

I had recently brought on two buyer agents and the very next morning I handed them all of my buyer business. Next, I let go of the home buyer seminars and the weekend showings. Then I vowed to see the girls to the bus every morning and meet the bus every afternoon. I kept the nanny and stopped daycare and set up my schedule to stop working nights and weekends. (as much as possible) Now if you ask my kids they will say they felt like they had a stay at home Mom.

I would not have been able to do this if I did not have systems in place.

Having consistent systems was the key to being able to make all of that happen. I had lead generation systems working for me but my issue that was leading to the overwhelm was being afraid to trust anyone else to be able to do the work with the clients as well as I thought I could.

The truth was, I had a great capable team who could handle it. I just needed to learn to trust them.

Once I learned to let go, things became really exciting! I was able to mentor many agents and train them to be successful. Most agents stayed with me for about two years and then went on to build successful businesses of their own. It was a win win.

After a while I realized that I loved sales but I loved helping salespeople even more. Now I mentor Realtors on how to optimize their results by lead generation systems and automation and I’ve discovered that every client I have has bottlenecks and obstacles getting in their way.
